OUR MISSION:
The Business & Entrepreneurship Academy (or "Business Academy") at Hoover High aims to prepare students for college, career, and entrepreneurial success by offering a relevant, rigorous four-year experience. We focus on helping students become creative problem solvers and critical thinkers by teaching courses that include industry-focused curricula, work-based learning experiences, and business partner expertise.
HOW WE'RE MEETING NEEDS:
The Business Academy (formerly Finance Academy) offers TWO pathways for students to explore careers in business: Finance and Marketing. All Business Academy students will take Business Academy 1 (fulfills the Career Preparedness graduation requirement) their first year. In the spring semester of BA 1: Career Prep, each student will determine which pathway -- Finance or Marketing -- best fits his/her goals, and officially join a Business Academy pathway sophomore year.
The department also offer standalone electives for those wanting to create their own learning path or take additional business classes.

Business & Entrepreneurship Academy wants to provide students with the skills and experience necessary to attain entry-level jobs as well as the academic preparation for their post-secondary education in the business and finance fields. This is accomplished by linking students’ course work to academic and industry standards and encouraging high achievement by all students. Throughout their four years in the Academy, students will develop relationships with local businesses and institutions of higher education to create opportunities for internships, scholarships, college acceptance and career choices.
